Softball Game Preview: West Prairie Cyclones vs. Monmouth-Roseville Titans

The West Prairie Cyclones will challenge the Monmouth-Roseville Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mercer County hit West Prairie with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cyclones came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 12-2. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lindsey Dunn and Addalyn Stanberry did some serious damage despite the final result: Dunn went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Stanberry went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Monmouth-Roseville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Macomb. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly ten runs.

West Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Monmouth-Roseville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

West Prairie couldn't quite get it done against Monmouth-Roseville when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Can the Cyclones avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
