Softball Recap: Annapolis Panthers vs. Northeast Eagles

Suggested Video

Annapolis extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They lost 14-0 to the Northeast Eagles. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Northeast, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Northeast's part, Jenna Burroughs was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burroughs has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brynn Jones was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Burris, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Annapolis is set to challenge their familiar foe Old Mill at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Northeast will face off against rival South River at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
