Softball Recap: Riverside Ram vs. Independence

Riverside put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Independence a 10-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Riverside sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Kaylee Kadans looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Marissa Skinner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Collins, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.

Riverside's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Independence, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will take on Herndon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lightridge at 6:30 p.m.
