Recap: McBee Panthers vs. Lewisville Lions
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the McBee Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 40-36 win over Lewisville. The victory was familiar territory for McBee who now have three in a row.
Lewisville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mariah Wallace, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Wallace has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aiyana Murrell, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds and three blocks.
McBee has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Lewisville, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McBee will square off against C.A. Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewisville, they will head out on the road to take on Great Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Great Falls comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
