Baseball Game Preview: Mineral Point Pointers vs. Darlington Redbirds

Mineral Point is on a three-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Darlington is on a seven-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Pointers will square off against the Redbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Mineral Point is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Pecatonica by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Darlington's offense. They lost 14-0 to Monroe on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Redbirds have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Mineral Point skirted past Darlington 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Pointers repeat their success, or do the Redbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
