Volleyball Recap: Regents Lions vs. North Delta Green Wave
There's no place like home for Regents, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the North Delta Green Wave on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.
Regents' got stronger as the match went on, holding North Delta to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-12.
Megan Ray paced Regents' offense, picking up 13 kills. Ray got some help from Maddie Niemeyer and her 30 assists. Selah Meurrier controlled things from the service line, finishing with ten aces.
Regents now has a winning record of 2-1. As for North Delta, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
After both having extra time off, Regents and Winston Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Delta, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Memphis Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 25th.
