Recap: Whitman Vikings vs. Walter Johnson Wildcats

The Whitman Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with an 85-76 victory over Walter Johnson. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Whitman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Titian DeRosa, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that DeRosa scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Farrell, who scored 24 points.

Whitman pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Walter Johnson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Whitman will be playing at home against Wootton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Wootton is ranked 92nd, while Whitman is ranked 70th). Walter Johnson is on the road again on Monday and play against Northwood on January 8th.
