Baseball Game Preview: Citrus Valley Blackhawks vs. Redlands Terriers

Citrus Valley is 9-1 against Redlands since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Citrus Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Redlands at 12:00 p.m. Citrus Valley will be strutting in after a win while Redlands will be coming in after a loss.

Citrus Valley picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Douglas.

Julian Cesena tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Stamper, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole West, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Citrus Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Redlands' offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Redlands East Valley on Thursday. The Terriers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Redlands' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Citrus Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Citrus Valley took their victory against Redlands when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0. Will Citrus Valley repeat their success, or does Redlands has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
