South Point dropped their record down to 13-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Dawson-Bryant Hornets by a score of 2-0. The Pointers were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Hornets' pitcher proved too tough.

As for Dawson-Bryant, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 16-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For Dawson-Bryant's part, South Point's batters probably weren't too happy with Abbie Deeds, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Deeds has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Point will venture away from home to face off against Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.04 runs per game on average), something the Pointers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dawson-Bryant, they will head out on the road to challenge Raceland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
