Soccer Game Preview: Highland vs. Independence

The Highland Scots are taking a road trip to challenge the Independence Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Highland's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bakersfield Christian, sneaking past 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scots.

Meanwhile, Independence lost 4-1 to Ridgeview on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Wolf Pack: they've now lost eight in a row.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6-7 record this season. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-3.

Highland came up short against Independence in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Highland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
