Baseball Recap: Erie-Mason Takes a Loss

Erie-Mason extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-20-1 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Summerfield Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-1 loss two weeks ago.

As for Summerfield, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.8 runs.

For Summerfield's part, their victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jude Flowers, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The Bulldogs are undefeated when Flowers posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-9 otherwise.

Erie-Mason does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summerfield, they will face off against Lenawee Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
