Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. York Country Day
Biglerville is 7-2 against York Country Day since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Biglerville Canners' road trip will continue as they head out to face York Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
Biglerville suffered their biggest defeat yet this season two weeks ago. They were dealt a 72-34 loss at the hands of Littlestown. While losing is never fun, Biglerville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Littlestown is ranked 234th).
Meanwhile, York Country Day waltzed into their matchup on Monday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They snuck past Dayspring Christian Academy with a 57-53 victory.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Ryan Maus and Noah Huxta. Maus had a great game and scored 26 points along with six steals and five assists. Meanwhile, Huxta was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Biglerville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for York Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Biglerville couldn't quite finish off York Country Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 52-49. Can Biglerville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
