League recap: Savanna win leads to rise in state rank

Savanna moved up to 896 from 934 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Orange. The Rebels were able to make the jump by beating Santiago 20-7.

Katella took down Santa Ana 33-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Anaheim's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Colonists feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hayden Guidry has thrown for 309 yards and one touchdown this season, while Jonathon Mayo has nine catches for 146 yards. Josh Tafoya leads the league in rushing with 380 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Knights take on Anaheim. As it stands, Katella is in second, while the Colonists are in fourth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Fred Dipalma's team takes on Anaheim. The Knights have allowed 41 points this season, while Lanny Booher's team has given up 126. Katella allowed 0 points last week as it bested the Saints.

Savanna made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,347 from 12,837. The advance stemmed from a 20-7 victory over the Cavaliers last week.
