Volleyball Game Preview: Western Warriors vs. Boulder City Eagles

Western is 0-7 against Boulder City since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Western will be strutting in after a victory while Boulder City will be coming in after a defeat.

Western was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Desert Pines 3-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Western wouldn't go down easily and took Desert Pines into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 12-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Boulder City faced Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2.

Boulder City actually scored more points across those five sets (111-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 15-25, 25-21, 12-25, 18-16.

Western's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Boulder City, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.

Western suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Boulder City in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
