Softball Recap: Burns Comes Up Short

If Burns was riding high fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Bessemer City last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 22-10 to the East Gaston Warriors on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Burns moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for East Gaston, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

While Burns had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
