Football Recap: Southridge Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Southridge never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 13-0 win over the Hialeah Thoroughbreds. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Thoroughbreds are ranked 104th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southridge pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average over those games. As for Hialeah, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Coming up, Southridge will welcome South Dade at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Southridge's defense has only allowed 6.2 points per game this season, so South Dade's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hialeah, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-6 defeat against American on the 10th.
