Stoneman Douglas is 7-2 against Flanagan since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Stoneman Douglas Eagles take on Flanagan Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Stoneman Douglas will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Stoneman Douglas' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bishop Snyder with a sharp 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Chase Wildroudt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Stoneman Douglas let Bennett Gary and Nick Diaz run wild. Gary scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Diaz went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave Diaz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Raley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Stoneman Douglas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Snyder only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, Flanagan gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Dr. Krop 6-4.
Caden Corzo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting no hits from his three at bats. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Flanagan got a great performance from Ethan Cabrera as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Cabrera has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Miguel Colmenares was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carter Roberts, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Stoneman Douglas pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Flanagan, their record now sits at 5-10.
Flanagan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stoneman Douglas has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Flanagan, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Stoneman Douglas' hitters?
Stoneman Douglas was able to grind out a solid win over Flanagan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will Stoneman Douglas repeat their success, or does Flanagan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
