Softball Recap: Shiprock Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Shiprock's offense. They lost 15-0 to the Aztec Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 two weeks ago.

Shiprock has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Aztec, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Shiprock will challenge Kirtland Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chieftains' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Aztec, they will square off against Bloomfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.96 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
