Basketball Recap: Make It 17 in a Row for Sauk Centre

Sauk Centre put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the West Central Area Knights by a score of 62-55. Given the Mainstreeters' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Knights are ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sauk Centre pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for West Central Area, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sauk Centre will head out to take on Minnewaska Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Central Area, they will venture away from home to challenge Melrose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
