Baseball Recap: Kennett Takes a Loss

After flying high against Delaware County Christian last Monday, Kennett came back down to earth. The Kennett Blue Demons lost 12-5 to the Oxford Hornets on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Demons in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kennett got a good showing from Cam Tanner, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Ryan Hunter led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Cole Doherty also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Kennett now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Oxford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Kennett will head out on the road to square off against Great Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Kennett has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Oxford, they will square off against Downingtown West at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
