Recap: East Tech Scarabs vs. John F. Kennedy Fighting Eagles
There's no place like home for the East Tech Scarabs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over John F. Kennedy on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for East Tech, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
George Thomas was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Copley, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
John F. Kennedy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jermaine Burson, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Damairus Logan, who scored eight points.
East Tech is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for John F. Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Tech won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bard Early College at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in East Tech's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches. As for John F. Kennedy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against John Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. John F. Kennedy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.
