Baseball Recap: Groveport-Madison Comes Up Short

Groveport-Madison lost a heartbreaker to Bexley when they met back in March of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. The Cruisers lost 16-6 to the Lions. The defeat continues a trend for the Cruisers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Jack Lutz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Casserly, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Groveport-Madison's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Bexley, their win bumped their record up to 11-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groveport-Madison will face off against Canal Winchester at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bexley, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Centerburg at 11:00 a.m.
