Soccer Game Preview: Handley vs. James Wood

The Handley Judges are taking a road trip to take on the James Wood Colonels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Handley is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

James Wood better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Handley's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Handley really gets things going. The Judges were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Sherando. Handley might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Jackson Justice and Micah Combs scored all three of Handley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, James Wood lost 5-1 to Millbrook on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for James Wood in their meetings with Millbrook: they've now lost seven in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, James Wood fell to 4-1-1. As for Handley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Handley took their win against James Wood in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Judges since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
