Soccer Recap: Batavia Takes a Loss

Batavia lost against Metea Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Batavia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Metea Valley are ranked fourth).

Batavia now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Metea Valley, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coming up, Batavia will be playing in front of their home fans against Geneva at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Metea Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against Wheaton-Warrenville South at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.
