Basketball Recap: New Hampton Comes Up Short

New Hampton came up into this matchup off a tough 22-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Columbus Sailors by a score of 50-48 on Monday. The Chickasaws just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

New Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Columbus, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-11.

New Hampton will head out to square off against Decorah-North Winneshiek at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbus, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dike-New Hartford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
