Baseball Recap: Clio Takes a Loss

Clio extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-6 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Owosso Trojans. The game marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

As for Owosso, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For Owosso's part, the result came thanks to Jackson Sydow's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Owosso's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blake Binger, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases. Another was Carson Moore, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Coming up, Clio will be playing in front of their home fans against Flushing at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Owosso, they will head out to take on Birch Run at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
