Basketball Recap: Granger Takes a Loss

Granger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt an 81-44 defeat at the hands of the Cyprus Pirates. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-14.

Granger's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason Biddulph, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Benson Turcsanski, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Gukeisen, who scored four points.

Cyprus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paden Sharp led the charge by going 7-for-13 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Sharp a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Koli Fosita, who went 7-for-13 en route to 17 points.

Granger's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Cyprus, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Coincidentally, Granger and Cyprus will both be playing Hunter the next time they take the court. Cyprus will head out to face Hunter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Granger will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
