Softball Game Preview: Rogers Eagles vs. Lexington Eagles

Rogers will head out to challenge Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rogers has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 28.

Rogers is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since April 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of C.H. Yoe by a score of 10-8.

Ariela Gutierrez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kinley Caldwell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Lexington's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thrall on Friday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in February.

Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Rogers came up short against Lexington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 8-5. Can Rogers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
