Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Gaither Cowboys
The Jefferson Dragons will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Gaither Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. Jefferson has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
Last Friday, Jefferson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Alonso.
Meanwhile, Gaither beat Durant 48-35 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Gaither.
Joslyn Thornton was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carolyn Emanuel, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Jefferson's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.7 points per game. As for Gaither, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
