Soccer Game Preview: Coalinga vs. Dos Palos

The Coalinga Horned Toads will square off against the Dos Palos Broncos at 5:31 p.m. on Tuesday.

Coalinga is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since January 17. They and Tranquillity finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

Meanwhile, Dos Palos' game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Firebaugh out 2-1. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Eagles are ranked 1046th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gerardo Andrade and Arturo Mendoza scored both of Dos Palos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 39 goals.

Dos Palos' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. Coalinga's draw makes their record 11-12-4 this season.
