Softball Recap: Edgewood Extends Winning Streak to Six

It's playoff time, and Edgewood had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Northview Knights 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on six straight.

ALLY BLAND spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Northview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.

Looking ahead, Edgewood will take on Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2.3, the Cadets 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Northview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
