Volleyball Recap: Monticello Wins Going Away Against Brainerd

Monticello's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Brainerd Warriors. The Magic have beaten the Warriors the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

One reason for the win was Monticello's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.

Addison Biard was the offensive standout of the match as she had six digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Brainerd lost, don't look at Evelyn Hagen. Despite the final result, she had ten assists and three digs.

Monticello's victory bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Brainerd, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's still a better percentage than their 6-21 record this season.

Monticello will be playing at home against Alexandria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brainerd does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
