Basketball Game Preview: Clairton Bears vs. Union Area Scotties

Clairton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Geibel Catholic with a sharp 52-32 victory. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Union Area posted their closest win since December 9, 2023 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Aquinas Academy, sneaking past 47-45. Given the Scotties' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th in Pennsylvania, while the Crusaders are ranked 279th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Union Area's victory bumped their record up to 24-0. As for Clairton, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.
