Softball Recap: Shea's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

Shea dropped their record down to 10-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Tiverton Tigers. The Raiders were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the six contests prior), but the Tigers' pitcher proved too tough.

Shea saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Kane, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Tiverton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by ten runs or more this season.

On Tiverton's side, Jersey-Ann Hastie was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Hastie has posted since back in April. Sara Poland was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

While Shea had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
