Softball Recap: Allen Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Allen fell just short of Prosper by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Prosper this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 back in March.

Addie King was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Allen and nudges their season record down to 13-15-1. As for Prosper, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Allen will welcome McKinney Boyd at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Prosper, they are taking a road trip to face off against Princeton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
