Softball Preview: Del Mar Dons vs. James Lick Comets        
        
		
            
 Del Mar is 8-2 against James Lick since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Del Mar Dons will head out on the road to  challenge  the James Lick Comets at 4:00  p.m. One thing working in Del Mar's favor is that they have posted big  run totals  every time they've taken the field this season.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Del Mar gave their fans yet another huge  victory on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by  a  28-4 margin over Evergreen Valley. Del Mar's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Sienna Denson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned run or hits while striking out 13 over 4.2 innings pitched. Denson was also big at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Niarah Aimonetti, who  went 4-for-5 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Meher Singh, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in five of her four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile,  the matchup between James Lick and San Jose  on Wednesday hardly resembled the  0-0 effort from their previous meeting. James Lick's  rough  19-8 loss to San Jose  might stick with them for a while.
 Del Mar pushed their record up to 6-0 with that  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 22.5 runs per game. As for James Lick, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record  this season.
