New London has gone a perfect 4-0 against Crestline recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Wildcats will face off against the Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. New London has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 21.
New London managed to slip by Monroeville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Eagles on Tuesday, falling 14-7.

New London saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Gum, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The Wildcats are 2-1 when Gum posts three or more hits, but 1-13 otherwise. Another was Brody Sword, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crestline, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Vanlue with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Quentin Kapp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adam Burton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jayden Rumple also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Crestline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
New London's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Crestline, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-16.
New London was able to grind out a solid win over Crestline in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 16-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
