Volleyball Recap: Sara Elden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wabash Valley Homeschool over Varsity Opponent

Wabash Valley HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Unfortunately, that's the 12th time they've come up short against Varsity Opponent this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss two weeks ago.

Wabash Valley HomeSchool actually scored more points across those four sets (91-87), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 11-25, 25-22, 25-20.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sara Elden, who had 101 digs and four aces. Elden is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 47 every time she's taken the court this season. Sophia Lewis was another key player, getting 58 digs, 16 kills, eight aces, and seven blocks.

Wabash Valley HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Wabash Valley HomeSchool is taking a road trip to challenge Indy F at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next contest (against Catholic - N.I.), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
