Basketball Game Preview: Lake Havasu Knights vs. Ironwood Eagles

The Lake Havasu Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Ironwood Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lake Havasu is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 9, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by Sunrise Mountain and fell 83-19. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Mustangs are ranked seventh).

Lake Havasu's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Vivian Velazquez, who posted four points, and Lexi Tuinstra, who scored six points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Ironwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 56-35 to Arizona College Prep.

Ironwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Lake Havasu, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.
