Softball Recap: Washburn Rural Comes Up Short

If Washburn Rural was feeling good fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Emporia back in April, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blues fell just short of the Seaman Vikings by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blues of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Washburn Rural now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Seaman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Washburn Rural beat Seaman by a score of 3-2 later that day.
