Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Sylmar

The Kennedy Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Sylmar Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Wednesday, Kennedy came up short against Van Nuys and fell 3-1.

The Cougars' goal came courtesy of Adrian Guzman, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Sylmar kept a clean sheet against Birmingham on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win. That's two games straight that Sylmar have won by exactly three goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Sylmar and bumps their season record up to 5-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two contests. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
