Baseball Recap: Leslie County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Leslie County had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Morgan County Cougars on Saturday as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The Eagles' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.

Landry Collett was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylan Simpson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Leslie County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-13. As for Morgan County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Leslie County will host Hazard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morgan County, they will square off against Fairview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
