Basketball Recap: Grady Cox's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Herrin over Mascoutah

Herrin lost against Mascoutah back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Herrin Tigers fell 68-59 to the Mascoutah Indians.

Herrin lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Grady Cox, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 17 points and eight boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyrese Lukens, who posted 15 points and five assists.

Herrin's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Mascoutah, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-12.

Looking ahead, Herrin will be playing in front of their home fans against Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mascoutah, they are taking a road trip to square off against Civic Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
