Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln-Way East vs. Lincoln-Way Central

The Lincoln-Way East Griffins will take on the Lincoln-Way Central Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Lincoln-Way East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Joliet West get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Give Lincoln-Way East's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way Central got the win against Blue Island Eisenhower on Friday by a conclusive 4-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Lincoln-Way Central's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Blue Island Eisenhower are ranked 123rd).

Lincoln-Way Central's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Lincoln-Way East, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Lincoln-Way East couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln-Way Central in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Griffins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
