Football Game Preview: Douglas County Huskies vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders + How To Watch

Douglas County is 0-9 against Regis Jesuit since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Douglas County has given up an average of 28.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Douglas County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 55-48 to Pine Creek on Thursday. Despite 122 more yards than the Eagles, the Huskies couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the defeat, Douglas County got top-tier performance from Jaden Adragna, who threw for 488 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. Asher Schembri helped Adragna out on the ground, picking up 180 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 32 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit faced Fountain-Fort Carson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raiders took a 24-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The matchup was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but the Raiders couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Regis Jesuit saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cade Filleman made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Colt Jones made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Regis Jesuit, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Douglas County has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Regis Jesuit, though, as they've been averaging only 95.7 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
