Basketball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside lost against Lafayette back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southside Sharks took a blow against the Lafayette Lions, falling 68-34. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Lions are ranked 37th).

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Southside has already played their next matchup (against Barbe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lafayette will square off against LaGrange at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
