Softball Recap: Johnston's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Johnston came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Kennedy Cougars. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 7-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Kennedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Johnston will head out on the road to square off against Urbandale at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons are facing the J-Hawks at the right time seeing as the J-Hawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Linn-Mar at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
