Football Recap: Wilmington Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Wilmington lost to Stoneham back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 14-6 win over the Spartans. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Spartans on their field since October 20, 2017.

Wilmington's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points on average over those games. As for Stoneham, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilmington will challenge rival Wakefield Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Stoneham is set to face off against their familiar foe Burlington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Spartans 11.6, the Red Devils 5.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
