Softball Recap: Pinole Valley Spartans vs. Saint Mary's Panthers
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Pinole Valley and Saint Mary had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Spartans put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-4 victory on Monday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Mckenzie Ortega made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
