Baseball Game Preview: West-Oak Warriors vs. Westside Rams

The West-Oak Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Westside Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West-Oak has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West-Oak came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to Tallulah Falls. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Westside fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Eastside on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1.

Henry Perry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for West-Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

West-Oak couldn't quite get it done against Westside in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
